Vault Lakeville Breaks Ground: A New Heated Storage Option Is Coming to Lakeville

Vault Lakeville has officially broken ground.

After months of planning, design, approvals, and preparation, construction is now underway on a new type of heated storage facility in Lakeville, Minnesota.

Vault Lakeville was created around a simple idea: provide large, heated, secure garage spaces with a premium feel while keeping rental rates practical and affordable for people who need more than a traditional storage unit.

Instead of requiring someone to purchase a garage condo and take on the associated long-term financial commitment, Vault Lakeville will offer just 12 private garage units available for lease on flexible 8–12 month terms.

Interest has already begun. Two of the 12 units have been reserved, leaving only 10 units currently available.

Storage Designed Around What You Actually Need to Store

One of the biggest differences between Vault Lakeville and traditional storage is the size and height of the units.

Available unit dimensions include:

  • 16' × 50'

  • 16' × 40'

  • 16' × 35'

  • 20' × 25'

Each unit is designed with 16-foot-high ceilings and oversized overhead doors, creating significantly more usable space than a typical storage unit.

The additional height opens up possibilities for storing:

  • Large boats and trailers

  • RVs and recreational vehicles

  • Sports cars

  • Classic and collector vehicles

  • Multiple vehicles using an appropriate lift system

  • Motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles

  • Trailers and recreational equipment

  • Business equipment and inventory

  • Seasonal items and other large personal property

For vehicle collectors in particular, the 16-foot ceiling height provides an opportunity to utilize vertical space with lift systems rather than simply renting additional floor space.

Heated Storage for Minnesota Winters

Minnesota storage presents a different challenge than simply finding enough square footage.

Vault Lakeville will feature hydronic in-floor heat, helping maintain a more comfortable environment throughout the winter months.

Heat and limited electrical use will be included with the rent, making monthly costs easier to anticipate.

Additional features include:

  • Hydronic in-floor heating

  • Heat included with rent

  • Limited electrical use included

  • Individual electrical service

  • Large overhead doors

  • 16-foot ceilings

  • Secure, gated access

  • Attractive exterior design

The objective is to provide many of the features associated with luxury garage developments without requiring luxury-level pricing.

An Alternative to Purchasing a Garage Condo

Garage condominiums can be a great solution for some owners, but purchasing one also means committing significant capital to real estate.

Vault Lakeville offers another option.

Rather than purchasing a unit, tenants will be able to lease their private garage space for 8–12 months.

That creates flexibility for someone who needs substantial heated storage but doesn't necessarily want another real estate purchase, association commitment, property tax bill, or long-term obligation.

You simply lease the space that fits your needs.

Only 12 Units Are Being Built

Vault Lakeville is intentionally small.

There will be just 12 private units in the entire development, allowing us to focus on providing functional spaces rather than building hundreds of conventional storage units.

Construction has now officially started, and two units are already reserved.

That leaves 10 units remaining as construction gets underway.

If you have been searching for heated boat storage, RV storage, collector car storage, recreational vehicle storage, or simply a larger private garage in the Lakeville and south metro area, we would be happy to discuss whether one of the available units fits what you need.
